Where on earth can i buy Tekkers in-store?

Tekkers are mainly available online which enables us to cut out any middle men and retail margins meaning our prices are as low as possible. That being said we know the value to punters of being able to touch and try our products before purchase so we are in the processes of connecting with some local businesses across the country so we can direct you to a store if required. We love partnering with local business so if you are one and think you have a good space give us a tinkle.

Are you lenses polarised? Are they polarised? Polarised?

If we had a dollar for every time someone has asked us this question we would already be spending more time at the beach. Here's the deal right, buying polarised lenses does not guarantee you quality. They are not automatically a better quality lens than non polarised. They do however filter out glare by absorbing light waves reflecting from bright surfaces such as water, roads and snow. The polarised filter which blocks polarised reflections is an extremely thin plastic film that has been treated to align molecular chains in a parallel relation to one another and pigmented with special colorants. In this way, glare created by polarised light striking the film is blocked. Will the sea look more transparent....Yes! Will they help you see fish and rocks below the water.....yes!

We have a range of polarised and non-polarised lenses across the store. The Hushwood range are available in both polarised and non-polarised, the frisk range are full polarised. At this stage the Gonzos and Scorcher ranges are not polarised.

What lens materials do you use?

For the Hushwood range we use Polycarbonate materials (plastic) which are very similar to the CR39 materials used on the rest of the range. The different molecular structure however makes them even more resistant and therefore ideal for outdoor activities and sports. It is a remarkably strong plastic; in fact, aircraft windshields motorcycle windshields and sport safety glasses are made of polycarbonate. They are the most shatter resistant material on the market and very lightweight. Given they are polycarbonate the a coating is applied to help with scratch resistance.

For the Frisks and Scorchers we use a material called CR39. CR39 stands for Columbia Resin batch 39 manufactured by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company. This is made up of hard cast resin (CR). We love these lenses because they have the same look as glass without the weight and are much much more shatter resistant.

What UV protection do Tekkers provide?

Tekkers provide UV400 protection, keeping eyes safe from harmful ultraviolet rays. We meet or exceed the American ANSI Z80.3-2001, Australian AS/NZS 1067:2003 and EN 1836-1997 Standards. We're safe.

Jobs at Tekkers?

We're still finding our growing feet and currently have things under control with the tight knit team of mates. As we grow we may be needing people like you. Follow us on Instagram and we'll be sure to let you all know.

Where are Tekkers based?

Our office and stock holding facility is based in Sydneys beautiful Northern Beaches.

Do you guys work with any charities?

Watch this space. We've been wanting to find the right charity partner for some time and think we have now found them.

How durable are Tekkers?

The durability varies a bit by style. Hushwoods combine bamboo on the arms with the plastic frames so with it not being one solid mould they don't enjoy being sat on, stood on, getting pocketed or exposed to excessive force. Gonzos are a complete wooden mould and will never be as durable as modern day plastics. The Scorcher and Frisk ranges are virtually indestructible so if you are wanting a pair of sunnies built to withstand the modern day 'festival' day out look no further. Bottom line is, look after your Tekkers and they will look after you for many years to come!

How long will it take to get my grubby hands on my Tekkers once ordered?

We'll ship out all orders within two working days of order placement via Australia Post Express shipping which is usually over-night. International times may vary but again orders will be shipped within two working days of order placement.

What's your returns policy?

If you aren't happy with your purchase and would like a refund or to swap for an alternative product, get the stock back to us within 14 days of delivery and in new condition and we'll happily oblige. Please notify us if you are doing this, it makes things much much easier.

How should i clean my lenses?

It is only recommended to use a Tekkers Microfibre cloth to clean your Tekkers, do not use any other solvents, chemicals or third party cleaning kits because they have not been tested on our lens and could possibly damage them which no one wants.

I'm a young athlete looking for sponsorship or free gear....hook me up?

Whilst we love ambitious young athletes wanting to be a part of our brand we get contacted by a lot and it's just not possible, or practical to engage with everyone. Whilst we'd love to we're not a charity so if you do contact us come with a proposal that works both ways.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes of course we will... but... it usually takes around 2 weeks for your sunnies to arrive which sucks and we won't be responsible for any taxes that may be forced upon you by local governments (this is very unusual but has unfortunately happened).
